I am not protesting the assessment per se. However, I am protesting that the allocated resources will favor newer developments at the expense of the older neighborhoods. Case in point-the northeast neighborhood lacks safe pedestrian and bike friendly connectivity. Have you ever tried to cross Rouse at Peach to access that bike lane? Or ride a bike down North Wallace to Heebs or Hawthorne School? What about navigating the Peach/Plum/Broadway intersection with tractor trailers from Simkins and Kenyon? The older neighborhoods present many challenges but they should not be ignored because of poor planning. i I cannot support giving the City a blank check without a detailed plan of action and fear the City will be picking up the tab for poor planning and development on the west side of town. Please provide details of plans and priorities. r Regarding tree maintenance... I have never seen tree maintenance in the Orange/Ida/Fridley/Plum area. Maybe we could get some extra plowing in exchange for this? Thank you,
