HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-26-15 Newhall ACSSD Public Comment r To the Arterial and Collector Street Special District Committee: We are protesting this request for additional taxes on our property located in Bozeman, Mt. (lot 9 in block 17 of Oak Springs Subdivision phase 1 , located in the SE 1/4 section, township 2 South Range 5 East of P.M.M.) for the following reasons: 1 . The various levels of local government-city-county-state all want more money. They all want us to think it's a "small" affordable amount. But, they (fo add up. Thereis no planning or working together to consider the total amount this is costing the individual home owner. The street dept. wants more, the schools want more, the protective services needs more. . .etc. There's no end and no knowing of them planning together with the taxpayers ability to pay being seriously considered. 2. I live in Oak Springs and paid for the buildingof "our" streets, my side- walk and grass boulevards. No help from the government. In the winter we, the residents, pay for our own snow plowing of our streets. The city plows infrequently. We the residents of Oak Springs even pay for the trail system, building and maintaining, thats in our subdivision. It is open to use by all citizens, and many use it. 3. There is not a clear definition of what "perpetual and collector street qpgcial district means or may become in your notice. This appears vague to us. It also maybe a permanent tax increase to be used in any way in the future. We had to very specifically identify our property to be heard. Nothing vague would be accepted. Also the definition of the city trans- portation network is vague. Does this include bicycle trails or paths and jogging trails or paths. Maybe the useVs should help with the costs. We do jog and find ample places to run that do not require additional taxes We will close with these three comment/suggestion. C / --C 111 tea,Y`-S /
