TO CREATE THE ARTERIAL AND COLLECTOR STREET SPECIAL DISTRICT,
CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Monday, June 22, 2015, the Bozeman City Commission (the
“Commission”), will consider a Resolution of Intention to Create the Arterial and Collector Street Special
District (the “District”) for the purpose of funding the improvements related to arterial and collector
roadways (the “Improvements”) and assessing the costs therefore to benefitted property by the annual
levy of a special assessment.
A complete copy of the proposed Resolution of Intention to Create the Arterial and Collector Street
Special District (the “Resolution”), which includes the boundaries of the proposed District, is on file with
the Bozeman City Clerk and may be viewed at:
http://weblink.bozeman.net/WebLink8/Browse.aspx?startid=83144&dbid=0. The Resolution more
specifically describes the nature of the Improvements, the boundaries and the area included in the District,
the location of the Improvements and other matters pertaining thereto. The record of the May 18, 2015
Commission meeting contains information regarding the need for the District and the plan for funding and
assessment once the District is created (see report for Fiscal Year 2016 Budget Work Session
Transportation Issues and Funding).
All properties in the District, comprised of the entire incorporated city, will be assessed for their
proportionate share of the costs of the Improvements which will be payable in equal semiannual
installments. The annual costs of the Improvements in the first year are estimated to total $576,000, and
shall be assessed against each lot or parcel of land based upon its total square footage. The total area of
the District to be assessed is estimated to be 200,521,000 square feet. The initial cost of the
Improvements is estimated to be $0.002873 per square foot. A typical residential parcel is estimated to be
assessed $21.54 for the year.
On Monday, June 22, 2015, at 6:00 p.m., in the Commission Room of City Hall, 121 N Rouse Avenue,
Bozeman, Montana, the City Commission will conduct a public hearing and consider adoption of the
Resolution of Intention to Create the District.
