SUBJECT: Hyalite/Sourdough Water Treatment Plant Replacement Project – Change
Order No. 10.

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the City Manager’s signature on the Hyalite/Sourdough Water Treatment Plant Replacement Project – Change Order No. 10.
BACKGROUND: Attached is a copy of change order number 10 for the above referenced
project. This change order includes three items. One is a credit and two are additions. Page two
of the change order entitled “Change Order No. 10 Summary” provides a short description of
each of the items involved with this change. The remainder of the document contains the detailed backup cost information for each item. Overall this change will decrease the contract price by $98,294.00 and increase the final completion contract time by 330 days. The credit is because
there was an item for force account work that was included in the bid award. It was not used and
will therefore be deducted from the final contract amount. The time issue is due to some repairs
that could not be completed over the winter due to weather. They were also dependent on the City having some other work completed which is still outstanding. The time that is being granted will take the completion out until the end of July to make sure everything is completed.
The final recommended change in cost and time for these items is reasonable and commensurate
with the work involved.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
FISCAL EFFECTS: Overall this change order decreases the contract amount by $98,294.00
from $27,270,364.00 to $27,172,070.00.

COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 4606
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
MONTANA, APPROVING ALTERATION/MODIFICATION OF CONTRACT
WITH APOLLO, INC., KENNEWICK, WASHINGTON.
WHEREAS, the City Commission did, on the 25th day of May 2011, authorize award of the bid for
the City of Bozeman Hyalite/Sourdough Water Treatment Plant Replacement project, to Apollo, Inc.,
Kennewick, Washington; and
WHEREAS, Section 7-5-4308, Montana Code Annotated, provides that any such alterations or
modifications of the specifications and/or plans of the contract be made by resolution; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the prosecution of the work to make alterations or
modifications to the specifications and/or plans of the contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman,
Montana, that the proposed modifications and/or alterations to the contract between the City of Bozeman, a
municipal corporation, and Apollo, Inc., as contained in Change Order No. 10, attached hereto, be and the
same are hereby approved; and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract
change order for and on behalf of the City; and the City Clerk is authorized and directed to attest such
signature.
