Message: Dear Bozeman City Commissioners; I beg you to seriously consider passingthe Equal Pay for Equal Work resolution proposed at tonight's meeting. The reasonfor gender pay inequity is simple...our society has a deep-rooted belief that womenare not as good as men, should not earn as much as men,are not worth as much asmen—ultimately, that female citizens of the world being targets of individual andinstitutionalized violence, oppression, and discrimination is no big deal. Gender payinequity is a big deal—it’s illegal, it’s bad business, it’s morally wrong, and youBozeman City Commissioners have an opportunity to make it right. I ask the you tomake the right choice--stand up and give a shout-out for women’s equality in thismost basic way. Please pass the Equal Pay Resolution—prove that you do not standwith misogyny, sexism and oppression, but that you instead stand with women andfamilies to guarantee equal pay for equal work.
