Great images in the paper! They couldn’t be more in contrast. I winced when I saw the proposed design as it reflects nothing of our downtown historic character. I understand the need for more modern architecture and diversity, but that is the most extreme example I could even image. I would be embarrassed to take my guests for a walk downtown to enjoy our more historic (and increasingly upbeat) personality and have to walk by and apologize for our cities lack of vision. And what a precedence that sets for the future. What about all the folks who have gone to great length to preserve our historic personality, and watch the future run in and build something so radically different it doesn’t even make sense. Thanks for the opportunity to say something Chris! Maybe there are other considerations I’m unaware of, but at first glance – it’s very off-putting.
