AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 4GB AS AMENDED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 469.

Seotion 1. Definitions. The word "persons" shall mean and
inolude person, firm or corporation.
The words "automobile for hire" shall
mean and include any mo~or vehicle engaged in carrying passengers for
hire which is or,are operated over and upon the public streets of the Oity
of Bozeman, excepting motor hiarses and motor ambulances.
Seotion 2.
Eyery person engaged in keeping and uSing any
automobile or automobiles for hire, the lioense shall be twenty-five dol-
lars per annum for eaoh automobile, payable quarterly in advance to the
City Treasurer of the Gity of Bozeman.
Section 3.
Before any. automobile shall be used for hire, it
shall be equipped w1th 8 metullio autamobile-for-hire license tag, of the
oharaoter 'and sile preeor.ib~d by the 01 ty Treasurer.

Seotion 4.
It shall be unlawful to drive or operate any auto-

mobile for hire while suoh automobile is oarrying or Bustaining the
weight of two or more 'DersonB in exoess of the rated seating oapao! ty
thereof, acoording te the staterpent thereof cOntained in the applicb.tion
upon which the license to operate suoh automobile for hire was granted,
or to permit any passenger to ride upon the running board 9f suoh
automobile ,for hire or to sit upon the fender or dash or doors thereof,
provided, ,however, that firemen of the C~t1 of Bozeman may ride free upon
suoh aut9mobile, or any part thereof, on their way to or from fires.
C For the purpose of this sub-division ch1ldren in arms shall not be
oonsidered as persons.)
Seotion 5.. It shall ,be unlawful for any person operating suoh
automobile to drink intoxioating liquors of 'any kind, while engaged in
transporting passengers for hire, or while engaged in the servioe of
transporting passengers for hire, as herein set forth.
Seotion 6. Any person who shall violate aQJ of the provi-
sions of this Ordinanoe shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon

oonviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not to exceed the sum of One
Hundred Dollar~ ($100.00), or by imp;'lsonment in the City Prison for a
period not exceeding six months, or by both such fine' and imprisonment.
, Section 7.
All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict with
the provisions of this Ordinanoe are hereby repealed.
