Carolyn,
Below is an email from Nikki Naiser, President of the Sunrise Rotary Club. As you can see below, the Sunrise Rotary is very much in support of our application and proposed project.
Thanks Jimmy

Hi Jimmy.
Thanks for your email and the update on the plans for the vacant land at the entrance to the Park our club adopted more than 20 years ago.
Our members have been very active in protecting this area, and in fact, three of those city commissioners who voted against amending the growth policy are members of the Bozeman Sunrise
Rotary Club.
I am forwarding your message to the key contacts regarding all projects at the East Gallatin Recreation Area—and I can tell you these guys are passionate about protecting the space
and knowledgeable about processes and challenges involved in purchasing the property.
Doug-Ted-Bill: please read Mr. Blackburn’s email below regarding an alternate plan to commercialize the property at the Park’s entrance, and note the time of the upcoming TOPS meeting
on Friday. Anything you can do to show our support would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Nikki

Hi Nikki, My name is Jimmy Blackburn and I'm a homeowner adjacent to the East Gallatin Rec Center(279 Turtle Way). I am looking to gather support from organizations such as the Sunrise
Rotary in order to preserve the entrance to the EGRC as open space and hopefully incorporate the acreage into the existing park. As you may know, the City Commission recently voted
unanimously against Amending the Growth Policy that would have changed the future land use classification of this acreage from Parks, Recreation & Open Space to Residential. However,
the developer who currently still has the property under-contract now claims he will build a storage facility considering his plans for residential were denied. Time will tell as to
whether he will follow thru with this threat. In the mean time, we have applied for TOP(Trails Open Space & Parks) Committee funding in hopes of being able to purchase the land and
incorporate it into the existing park. Our application has been well received thus far but, we would very much like your support whether it be written or other. Our next meeting with
TOP is this Friday 5/22 at 10am in the Alfred Stiff building, 20 East Olive St. Would you be available for a phone conversation or meeting to discuss further details of our proposed
East Gallatin Extension Project? Sincerely, Jimmy Blackburn 279 Turtle Way 406.600.1393
