Bozeman - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to mill and overlay about 1.1 miles of South 19th Avenue (U-1201), in Bozeman, MT, Gallatin County. The project begins just south of West Kagy Boulevard, at reference post (RP) 4.4 and extends south for 1.1 miles ending at Blackwood Road, (RP 5.5). Proposed work includes milling the existing surface, applying a new overlay, and finishing with a seal & cover (chip seal), upgraded pavement markings, and installation of ADA compliant curb ramps. The purpose of the project is to extend the service life of the highway and take a cost-effective action to preserve and maintain the existing highway. The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2016, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding. No new Right-of-Way or utility relocations will be needed.
