I would like to encourage the Planning Board and Commission to require that the final approved
plat, for said subdivision, to include the construction of trails in the public park/open space
connecting the existing trails to the south, with Baxter Lane to the north (and subsequent trails
north of Baxter).
The current PROST map indicates a trail corridor here, yet is does not appear that the previous
phases of development in the area were constructed with the recommended trail corridor.
It seems appropriate for the developer to install the remaining and missing sections of trail, rather
than the tax payers or HOA at an unknown future date, if ever. I strongly encourage the trail
construction, in accordance with the PROST recommendations, be a condition of approval for
this phase of construction. This is an important trail corridor for the West side of town.
Please see attached PROST Vicinity Map suggesting a trail corridor in this location. Also see
the attached excerpt from the Phase 6 plat with requested trail locations to be installed by the
developer during this phase of land development.
