SUBJECT: Capital Improvement Projects Field Survey - Amendment No. 2
MEETING DATE: March 23rd, 2015

RECOMMENDATION: Approve and authorize City Manager to sign Amendment No 2 to the
Professional Services Agreement.
BACKGROUND: Attached is a copy of the partially executed Amendment No. 2 with Morrison Maierle, Inc. for the Capital Improvement Projects Field Survey.
This amendment includes 2 separate items of work. The first is the completion of the control and
cadastral surveying to the Montana Department of Transportation standards for the Kagy
corridor. Amendment No. 1 added the topographic surveying for the corridor, but did not include the control and cadastral survey tasks. This will add those services. The other item is
the completion of the topographic survey for the completion of the trail along North 19th Avenue,
including the preparation of easement documents necessary for the trail. The Commission
previously made this one of the priorities and directed staff to include it in this summer’s CTEP
project. Before we could complete the surveying, we needed to obtain permission from the effected property owners, which we now have. This part of the project will be added at no
additional cost since it is being “swapped” for some of the Kagy topographic survey that we have
determined we no longer need. Engineering staff has reviewed the amendment and found it to be
commensurate with the work involved.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission
FISCAL EFFECTS: If approved, this amendment will increase the fee by $44,378.75 from
$108,147.80 to $152,526.55.
