Message: I am on the board of directors of the Association of Gallatin Agricultural Irrigators and
the Greater Gallatin Watershed Council. Thank you to the City of Bozeman and especially Jeff
Krauss for testifying on behalf of passage of the CSKT Compact. Because Bozeman's city water
supply is dependent on surface water sources, the city is just as vulnerable as irrigators like me to
the prospect of endless no-win litigation if the Compact does not pass. All of our water rights
date from 1864 or younger. How could we protect our water rights from a time immemorial or an
1855 Treaty of Hellgate claim? . The Columbia and Missouri River provide for the needs of
millions of Americans. Montana represents only a million of those. If we have all our water right
holders gong bankrupt through litigation for another decade, downstream users are sure to take
advantage of our lack of vision. Thanks again for your continued support on this critical
legeislation.
