Dear City Staff,
I am requesting that you recommend against allowing
Eminent Domain
status for Tom Murphy at Bridger Creek. Mr. Murphy purchased his property knowing
that it
bordered a Community Park and a Public Trail head. The Bridger Creek Community
has
made it clear to Mr. Murphy that his plans do not fit in with the Community goals.
Mr. Murphy
seems to care little about his impact on our community. I believe he has an
alternative
access to City utilities to his property should he desire to annex to the City.
Destroying a
Public park and Trail seems to be a mean alternative.
The Community Park and trail head are enjoyed by many
people
throughout Bozeman. I know of a Grandmother who loves to take her Grandchildren
there
often. I see retired members there as well as Young mothers getting deserved
exercise.This
wet land is filled with migratory birds, rare orchids, and other wild things. It is a
gem. Please
don't allow it to be damaged.
The gross harm of granting Mr. Murphy's request far out
weights the
value of some taxable property income to the City's books. The City needs to send
a firm
message to the public that it supports it's citizens quest to live in the " Last Best
Place".
Protecting Parks and Trail heads such as this will insure a harmonious growth.
Thank You,
Lawrence Dowdin
