We encourage you to print this email for ongoing instructions of the procurement/purchasing process The process for purchasing and taking delivery of equipment will be implemented in one of two ways: 1) The Foundation Team will purchase the requested equipment based on your submitted quote The vendor will ship the equipment directly to your organization VERY IMPORTANT: upon delivery, you will need to send a signed & dated copy of the packing slip to our Foundation via e-mail (Foundation Ofirehousesubs.com) or fax k9D41 886-2111 (Please note: our accounting department requires this documentation prior to paying invoices) . 16YZ 2) The Foundation Team will draft a memo of understanding for both parties to sign, our Foundation will then send your organization a check directly. We have a high tourism community with sever weather that directly effeclives the 1-90 interstate in Gallatin County. Having the ability to deal not only with motor vehicles accidents but also Bozeman is in high (4) zone for earthquakes and having the airbags and struts would be a big asset when it comes to dealing with collapsed buildings. We have asked for replacement equipment in past budget years, but as most cities have experienced over the last few years we have less and less to work with when it comes to annual budgets. These budget requests are some of the first cuts that get made each year. There's potential for this equipment to impact every car accident or building collapse. (City Grant Number 2015-01) BACKGROUND: The Bozeman Fire Department has been notified by the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation that the attached grant request has been approved for the full amount of the grant request. This grant will allow us to replace the current air bags which have exceeded their useable shelf life and need to be replaced. A highway vehicle stabilization kit will also be purchased. This kit includes rescue struts, strut extensions and tie down straps which will improve our ability to stabilize a vehicle or structure to perform a safe and controlled rescue. The Bozeman Fire Department also responds to the Central Valley Fire District for automatic aid for any trench collapse within their fire district. The initial notification of application for this grant was approved by consent on the January 12, 2015 commission meeting. The purpose of this memo is to gain approval to accept final award of the grant. UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None FISCAL EFFECTS: The Firehouse Subs Foundation will purchase the equipment directly and deliver to the Bozeman Fire Department. No funds will be expended by the City of Bozeman. The grant does not require matching funds. The total value of the awarded equipment is $36,588.00. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
