A8 Zoning Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: Pearl Michalson, Deputy City Clerk Stacy Ulmen CMC, City Clerk SUBJECT: (Re) Appointments to the Zoning Commission MEETING DATE: February 9, 2015 MEETING TYPE: Action RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move to reappoint Eric Garberg, Julien Morice and George Thompson to the Zoning Commission with terms ending January 31, 2017. BACKGROUND: There are three expired terms on the Zoning Commission and three reapplying member. The Zoning Commission was re-created under Ordinance No. 1500, to establish procedures for the administration of the municipal zoning ordinance within the City limits. Resolution No. 3312 then established the membership of the Zoning Commission. According to Resolution No. 3312: The Zoning Commission shall consist of five members appointed by the City Commission. Members of the board shall serve two-year staggered terms. Persons of legal age may be appointed to the board. All members must be residents of the City of Bozeman. This Commission has three expired terms and three reapplying applicants. While working on the development team assisting a small village in the acquisition and development of a 1,120 acre former Naval Air Base I become aware of the importance of placing public issues and decisions in front of personal agendas.
