HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 4575 Declaring it Policy to Continue the Effects of Ordinance 1866 Related to Workforce Housing so2��� . r * *t 88 co °}y� COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 4575 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, DECLARING IT THE POLICY OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN TO CONTINUE THE EFFECTS OF ORDINANCE 1866 RELATED TO WORKFORCE HOUSING. WHEREAS, on July 16, 2007, the Bozeman City Commission adopted Ordinance 1710 requiring the provision of workforce housing units to meet the needs of income --qualified household in the City's workforce and other households within the specified income range; and WHEREAS, on June 3, 2013 the Commission adopted Ordinance 1866 suspending the provisions of Ordinance 1710 until December 31, 2014 for the purposes stated in the ordinance; and WHEREAS, on November 10, 2014, the Commission approved a professional services agreement with Werwath & Associates for the evaluation of the provisions of Chpt. 10, Art. 8, BMC; and WHEREAS, the Commission anticipates hearing the evaluation currently being conducted by Werwath &Associates and considering new amendments to Chpt. 10,Art. 8, BMC sometime in the first quarter of 2015; and WHEREAS, the Commission desires to continue the amendments to Chpt. 10, Art. 8, BMC, called for in Ordinance 1866 until such time as the Commission adopts a new ordinance addressing workforce housing or determines the original provisions of Ordinance 1710 should again become applicable. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, that: Section 1 The Bozeman City Commission hereby determines it is in the public interest to continue until such time as determined by the Commission the amendments to Chpt. 10, Art. 8, BMC, called for in Ordinance 1866. During the time the provisions of Ordinance 1866 remain in effect, the staff evaluation of all applications that would otherwise be subject to the requirements of Chpt. 10, Art. 8 shall recognize and make note of the ongoing effects of Ordinance 1866.
