A3 EDC Appt Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: Pearl Michalson, Deputy City Clerk Stacy Ulmen CMC, City Clerk SUBJECT: (Re) Appointments to the Economic Development Council MEETING DATE: January 12, 2015 MEETING TYPE: Action RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move to reappoint Erik Garberg and Teresa McKnight to the terms expiring February 1, 2015 and appoint one new applicant to the vacancy that expires February 1, 2016 on the Economic Development Council. BACKGROUND: This Council has two terms expiring February 1, 2015. Two members with expiring terms have reapplied. One vacancy with a term expiring February 1, 2016 exists and two new applications have been received. The creation and appointment of an Economic Development Council was recommended and described in the Economic Development Plan adopted by the City Commission on August 3, 2009. In February, 2010, the seven member Council was appointed. Shortly thereafter, the Council brought forward Ordinance No. 1784 adding Chapter 2.86 of the Bozeman Municipal Code for the official creation of the Economic Development Council and establishing the duties and responsibilities thereof. Council members shall serve three year staggered terms.
