I happen to live on the corner of a side street and a main, thorough fare. The difference in plowing between those two streets is ridiculous. I understand whenit snows the street department can not plow all the streets at once, so it begins withthe most highly used roads. However, it has not snowed in town since last Monday,December 15th and the street in front of my house has still not been plowed! Theplow truck has driven down my street many times, each time with it's plow up! Yesterday I decided to take a little trip around town to see which streets had beenplowed and which had not. I was shocked to learn that almost every single sidestreet on the north side of town had not been touched! Peach, Willson, Oak, andTamarack had been plowed, but that was about it. The streets leading up to the Cityshops had not even been plowed! What is the reasoning for that? What are theseworkers doing all day? When it snows an inch, the Parks Department is asked to come in and clean off allthe sidewalks surrounding the parks and many other sidewalks around town, theday is snows, even if it's a weekend. They are also asked to remove all the snowfrom the parking lots at the parks, within a day or two. It has now been a weeksince it has snowed and our streets are still filled with snow. This is awful! Yesterday was so warm, it would have been a perfect day to clean off many of theside streets before the next snow fall, but that didn't happen. So this morning whenI woke up and went to start my car, my street was an ice-skating rink covered withhuge mounds of ice. I am simply appalled by the sate of our streets. Especially inthe core of town. I am a tax payer, and I deserve to have my streets plowed in a timely manner. Notonly for my safety and the safety of anyone who drives on the streets, but becauseit is a right of mine as someone who pays for street maintenance. Please speak with our new Public Works Director Mr. Woolard about why the streetsare in this condition. I would also like to know what his workers are doing all day ifthey are clearly not plowing the streets? Thank you for your time and I hope this matter is taken care of immediately. Sincerely, Josie Shern
