HomeMy WebLinkAbout24 Ped and Traffic Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: Stacy Ulmen CMC, City Clerk SUBJECT: Reappointment to the Pedestrian and Traffic Safety Committee MEETING DATE: December 8, 2014 MEETING TYPE: Action RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move to reappoint Gary Vodehnal to the Pedestrian and Traffic Safety Committee. BACKGROUND: There is one term expiring on December 31st, 2014 for a City appointee. Under an Interlocal Agreement dated February 6, 1990 and signed by the State of Montana Department of Transportation, the Bozeman City-County Planning Board, the City of Bozeman, and Gallatin County, the Pedestrian and Traffic Safety Committee is identified “as a sounding board for proposals advanced to the Transportation Coordinating Committee.” The structure of the Committee is somewhat revised under this Interlocal Agreement, with its members being appointed by the City Commission and the County Commission, “from a cross section of the study area's economic and social classes in accordance with the appropriate section of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.” The Committee is advisory, and city appointee members are appointed to staggered two-year terms. This committee currently has one voting City appointee vacancy and one re-applying member. Re-applying applicant: Gary Vodehnal ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
