5) Review of Cemetery Land City Commission Resolution -2:30
Board member Ball wondered if Section 2 is needed in the resolution. The Board felt unanimously
that Section 2 should be removed from the resolution unless there was some reason that it needed
to be kept in. The Board would like to be notified before hand as to the date that this resolution will
go before the City Commission so they can attend. Board member Bail wished to thank Jon
Henderson in GIS for the map. Is it important to label the map with current BSF field? The
agreement was to label it future cemetery land.
6) Veterans Wall Update—Don Derby-12:40
Board member Derby reported that the last report he had from the Chamber showed$8000 in the
fund. $3000+has been collected. An article has been placed in the Three Forks Herald which
generated interest and donations. Five plaques have been bought so far and maybe more.
Applications are available at Hillcrest. Going as planned. Still need to raise$22,000. Working on
getting an article in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. Checking on centerpiece. The bid on the sidewalks
is almost$8,000.

8) Superintendent/Foreman Update—Thom White/Shane Surber
- Memorial Garden Update—22:06
Foreman Surber reported that the Memorial Garden is open and the brochure is done
and is located at City Hall,City Shops and at both funeral homes. The stone has been
engraved with "Memorial Garden". Mowers are back into the CIP. Summer staff is
done and Cemetery Division is unable to find new help. Still watering and mowing. Four
new, larger trees have been planted that were donated by individuals. Three birch trees
have been removed and the stumps ground. Forestry Foreman is retiring Sept. 5th.
Nine trees will hopefully be planted this fall. The 20 bare root trees have been planted.
An individual wants to plant a 20' ponderosa pine by lot#143.

27:38 Parks&Cemetery Superintendent White stated that new park entrance signs,
which make the parks more identifiable, are being funded through CIP. Requests for
proposals for the signs have gone out and five or six proposals have come back. The
City's new logo will be on the bottom of the signs. Each park sign will have a singular,
unique detail for that individual park.
City's secondary water rights on Story Mill Ditch are being monitored in hopes of using
more of that water to irrigate the cemetery.
Hard to find qualified workers.
Mower program is coming back, which will help with having reliable mowers.
38:12—No response to the Memorial Garden yet. Possibility of park benches in the
future from private and individuals.
Kiosks for maps of cemetery. Concern that maps would end up being discarded and
become trash. Possibility of doing a wrap around like downtown of some sort
designating you are here.
45:58-Foreman Surber mentioned that an individual has purchased 10 lots in the
veteran's section. They are interested in donating some money for a new entrance sign
or a bigger American flag.
