To all,
Does Bozeman have an "anti-solicitation" law? If not, please consider. I have noticed a growingnumber of people sitting at intersections with signs asking for hand outs. They are approachingvehicles, persuading people to give them money. I also see people downtown on Main street doing thesame to pedestrians.
I understand some people are in need, but many of theses that I see are younger and appear able towork. I saw one using a mobile phone today. They guy with his truck and camper parked at theintersection near Target is classic...he has a small inflatable Spider Man taped to the STOP sign as aprop. A younger couple was at the N. 7th overpass approaching cars at the light, flashing a sign andlaughing as though they were having fun.
Please consider an ordinance to make sitting on the corner or approaching people asking for moneyillegal.
