A vehicle such as the BearCat has no place in Bozmean. The move to purchase thevehicle was both unwise and untimely. I urge Police Chief Ron Price to send thevehicle back and issue a public apology. I fear his misguided actions will severelyimpact the trust that the citizens of Bozeman put in their police department.
Our Police Chief must decide if he would rather assuage public fears and distrustnow or let voters take it out on the police department this November. Theresponsible choice, I think, is clear.
