Message: Commissionsers, Please send the Bearcat Armored Vehicle back! Was theBozeman City Manager just wishing and hoping that some day some way he/wecould have an Amored Vehicle to meet a need that was more pressing than allothers? Suddenly, free money makes us REALLY want one! I want you all toconsider the annual cost to upgrade, maintain, store, operate both in practices andfor show off events. Then there are the trips for law folks to get trained and to keepcurrent on the Vehicle. The funding for all of the things I just listed come fromsomewhere else in the budget every year in the future as long as we have theVehicle. What other needs will go unmet annually to have this Vehicle? Now, wasthe vehicle really "free". I bet Missoula and Billings, Helena and Great Falls all tookthe bait. When the terriorists come knocking in Bozeman can't we hold them off longenough with National Guard armor until our near by buddies come to the rescue intheir Bearcat Armored Vehicles?
