Dear Mayor Krauss and City Commissioners:
Please note that this is my first time contacting you with an issue I am concernedabout. It's not that other issues haven't been pressing. But this issue is highlycontentious and I am appalled by the dowdy method that we the City have acquiredan assault vehicle.
I would like to think that in our small city, with public discourse opportunities and ademocracy, that receiving an armored vehicle would be part of a plan with publicinput. There was no plan or discussion amongst the Mayor, Commissioners and thePolice Dept. This is irresponsible and irrational behavior and does not behoove you.
This is the kind of acquisition that makes the public highly suspicious of what ourelected officials are up to. It contributes to fear and conspiracy plots.
This vehicle needs to be returned.
We do not need this type of assault weapon in our good city.
The increased militarization of the country need not be reflected in Bozeman, MT.We are better than this.
Fix our streets. Pay for the uninsured to have health insurance. Do something thathelps helps the disappearing middle class. Do something the public asks for.
Return the vehicle.
