Message: Dear City Commissioners: I have been reading about the armoredpersonnel vehicle recently sent to the Bozeman Police Department by HomelandSecurity through a grant proposal that was never approved by the City Commission.I can't see the need for this kind of equipment in Bozeman, and I hope the citycommission will refuse the grant. Having military equipment like this seemsunnecessary in our town, and it may signal what other towns, like Ferguson, haveexperienced as a militarization of the police force and culture. What is the cost ofkeeping such a vehicle and what benefit can it provide to Bozeman? If you havetime, I would be very interested in hearing your thoughts on this issue.
