The use of this typeof equipment creates an environment in which the citizens are treated as enemies ofthe government. The role of the police department should be to serve and protectthe people. This problem is not limited to Bozeman. All across the country thepentagon is distributing these vehicles. This is a very dangerous precedent and willonly lead to more incidents such as the recent conflict in Ferguson, MO. Bozemanmust be smarter than that. I find the argument that his vehicle is a necessary pieceof defensive equipment a dubious one. This vehicle is designed for the battlefield. The presence of this vehicle will likely escalate any situation in which it is used. Hasany one asked how many times has Bozeman Montana had an incident were thiskind of vehicles would truly be necessary? We have a national guard that can beutilized in the rare/unlikely event that this kind of equipment would be necessary.Bozeman does not need this vehicle. Sincerely, Brandon Hardin
