In the past we have relied on the Bozeman/Gallatin County Special Response Team (SRT) for assistance
with incidents in our county. We have had them on stand-by for criminal trials involving Sovereign
Citizen's. This past summer we utilized the Bozeman/Gallatin County SRT for a barricaded subject with a
pistol, who also had access to a high powered rifle. The residence the subject was in was close to other
residences in which two contained children. In this particular incident it would have been helpful if the
team would have had the Bearcat as they were using cover that really would not stop the rounds that
could have been fired. I believe this piece of equipment would be beneficial to southern Montana for
the protection of the team members to be able to protect the citizens of our communities.
