Bozeman City Commission Meeting Monday, September 22, 2014
On Saturday, September 27th, the Community-Coalition On Drug
Awareness in partnership with Alcohol & Drug Services of Gallatin County,
Bozeman Elks Lodge, Bozeman Noon Rotary, Gallatin County Court
Services, and the Missouri River Drug Task Force will be providing a safe,
convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs at
the Law & Justice Center from 10 am to 2 pm as part of the National Drug
Take Back Day.
We will be providing an opportunity for the general public to drive up and
drop off unused or expired medication at the Law & Justice Center without
getting out of the car.
We will not be accepting needles, aerosols, and liquids.
This National Drug Take Back Day will give the Community-Coalition On
Drug Awareness an opportunity to educate community members about
Montana's invisible epidemic.
According to the Montana Department of Justice, prescription drug abuse
contributes to the deaths of more than 300 Montanans each year —
making prescription drug abuse 15 times more deadly than meth, heroin
and cocaine combined.
We will also be informing the public about the new locations of Drug Take-
Back Boxes at the Belgrade Police Department and Bozeman Police
Department Substation.
