Vehicle
Armored Rescue Vehicle – designed for civilian law enforcement use
Ford 4wd truck, modified to support ballistic (bullet-proof) protection
Transports 10 adults
Currently in use by Missoula, Billings, Great Falls, Helena and Kalispell
Regional asset to “fill the gap” for effective, safe response in SW Montana
Use
Specifically by members of Police/Sheriff Special Response Team (SRT)
Only during high-risk callouts involving shots having been fired or high risk of weapons
Provides for safe approach of officers and options for communication/peaceful
resolution
Ability to rescue persons/victims from the immediate hazard area
Transport team and specialty equipment

Joint team to safely resolve high-risk incidents – GCSO, BPD, Emergency Medical
Established in 1990
Averages between 5-10 calls annually
Members of the team have been fired upon at least six times since 2001.
Regional support with response to agencies in Park, Meagher, and Sweet Grass counties.
