COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 139 I A PRELIMINARY RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR frHE APPROV;\.L BY TEE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN OF 'l'EE CRE- ATION AND FUNCTIONING OF A WEOLE- TIME HEALTH UN'IT AND SERVICE IN THE COUNTY OF GALLATIN W HER E A S: (I) Heretofore, negotiations have been had between the State 30ard of Health of the state of Montana, the Rockefeller Foundation, the United States Public Health Service, the Board of Commissioners of the County of Gallatin, the Board of School Trustees of School District No. 7, and the Commission of the City of Bozeman, for the creation and funotioning of a Whole Time Health Unit and Servioe; and (21) The Commission of the City of Bozeman deems it expedient and proper that the City of Bozeman shall become a part of said Health Unit and Service, and have agreed thereto; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COM1USSIOH OF TIm CITY OF BOZE}]T..AN: I (3 ) That the selection by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Gallatin of Dr. A. D. Brewer as a whole time health officer of the County of Gallatin for the term beginning May 1st, 1929, be, and the same is, hereby approved and confirmed; (/:1:) That immediately a Joint Resolution shall be prepared providing for the creation and functioning of said Health Unit and Servioe,the officers and personnel thereof, and the salaries and expenses of said officers and per- sonnel, duration, termination and financing of said Health Service; that said Join Resolution shall be approved and adopted by (a) The Board of County Commissioners; (b) The Commission of the City of Bozeman; (c) The Town Council of the Town of Belgrade; (d) The Town Council of the Town of Manhattan; ( e ) The City Council of the City of Three Forks; (f) The Board of Trustees of School District No. 7. , (5 ) That the City Manager be, and he is hereby instructed to notify Dr. Jos. Piedalue, the present Health Officer, of the intention of the City of Bozeman to become a part of said whole time Health Unit and Service, and that his I services as Health Officer of the City of Bozeman be terminated accordingly; (6 ) That immediately after the passage of the joint resolution herein referred to, providing for the creation and functioning of the Whole-Time Health . Unit and Service, the local Board of Health shall be created to consist of the Manager of the City of Bozeman, the Whole-Time Health Officert Dr. A. D. Brewer, and J. R. Parker; that immediately after the organization of said Board, the said Board shall prepare and submit to the Commission of the City of Bozeman for its approval an Ordinanoe providing for the functioning of the Board of Health ...._---". ;)08 ___. _..._._.___ ____._n_..' u.... ____n . of the City of Bozeman and in conjunction with the Whole-time Health Unit and Service; ( 7) That the City of Bozeman hereby agrees to appropriate for and pay I toward the salaries and expenses of said Whole-Time Health Unit and Service, the sum of Hivi.~u~d~e~.aixty.ilv'.........Dollars($565.00} for the balance of the year 1929, and thereafter, and so long as the Whole-time Health Unit and Service shall continue, the sum Of One Thousand Dollars($lOOO.OO) per annum to be paid to the County Treasurer of the County of Gallatin in monthly in- stallments.
