Crews are fighting the rain. The weather has limited the
amount of spraying, aeration and fertilization we have done.
Yet, the parks are being used heavily with all regular
maintenance occurring daily. (Mowing, dog stations, garbage,
etc….)
A couple projects of note: The tennis court is complete at
Bogert and we are moving forth with the new building at
Christie- or at least knocking it down. We have temporary
water set for the field irrigation – if we ever need it. The
sidewalk along Church Street at Bogert is also being replaced.
We are fully staffed seasonally with the approved allotment
from city hall
Park tour is being worked on- but it will need to happen next
budget year. Input and suggestions- from RPAB will help –with
the lack of subdivision development I am struggling with were
we might want to concentrate our efforts- city-maintained-
facilities?
Park Improvement Grants will not be funded in FY 11- this
gives us the opportunity to button up and finish projects that
have been lingering and gives us some time to figure out how
to move forward, if at all with the program, in regards to the
rules and policies adopted by the commission early last year.
Back to the tennis court- once all bills are paid I will see what
kind of money is available to do the basketball area.
The trail at the East Gallatin has flooded once again- will be
meeting with the GVLT tomorrow to discuss a more permanent
solution- possibly boardwalks and bridges.
