DOWL HKM understands Willson Avenue, Grand Avenue, and Koch Street will require surveying in support of project design and construction. Our local presence, - -- combined with a relatively large support staff of highly qualified surveyors and drafters will allow us to respond promptly to the City's current needs and provide additional services throughout the duration of the contract. They have surveyed and processed hundreds of miles of corridor topography including high resolution terrain models of existing conditions as well as boundary and legal surveys. They have specialized skills integrating measurement techniques and controlled merging of multiple datasets including ground survey information, bathymetry, LiDAR, and Photogrammetry. All recent work in the Gallatin valley has been developed on a purpose-built Low Distortion Projection that ensures one single coordinate system for all projects while simultaneously eliminating distortions between ground measurements and grid measurements. This ensures a consistent product, on a consistent coordinate system, without the need for application of combined scale factors. Deliverables will include a *.PRJ file describing the datum and parameters of the system for design and staking reference. Amsterdam Churchill Sewer District Survey This project consisted of 7 miles of forced main sewer design from the Amsterdam-Churchill lagoons to Manhattan within highway and railway rights-of-way in addition to several private easement } creations. Boundary resolution of parallel highway and railway right-of-way dating back to early 1900's railway and 1940's highway was difficult due to frequent overlaps and underlaps. Survey ties to section and quarter corners were held for record railway and highway centerlines. Ties to additional adjacent property corners j provided checks on other surveyor's right-of-way -- -- - ---- resolutions. Topography and boundary lines were developed in a Amsterdam Churchill single drawing for design efforts. Lagoons Topography Bozeman School District Term Contracts DOWL HKM has held the Bozeman School District term contracts F ----------for the 2003-2004, 2007-2008, and current 2013-2014 terms. Over I this period, DOWL HKM has provided a wide range of survey and t `: design services for the school district. Services have included !!p;: planning, survey, and design of a new 300-stall parking lot for Bozeman High School. The design included extensive pedestrian improvements, fencing, lighting, and the layout of athletic fields affected by the parking lot installation. Currently, the survey crew is working on the following projects for the School District. ------------------- -------- • High School Tennis Courts - Topographic survey for Completed High School reconstruction of tennis courts to facilitate sanctioned Parking Lot tournament play. • Sacajawea Middle School - Topographic survey for stormwater relocation and parking lot improvements. • Longfellow Elementary - Topographic survey for replacement of aging sanitary sewer lines. • Chief Joseph Middle School - Topographic survey for parking lot improvements and ADA compliance. DOWL HKM 1 Page 3 2014 CIP Field Survey Recent and Current work for the City of Bozeman The DOWL HKM Bozeman office has an established track record and has served the community for 25 years by providing services to the City of Bozeman, Montana State University, and Gallatin County. DOWL HKM currently holds the Real Estate Services Term contract for the City of Bozeman. Our team is actively surveying these other local projects: ♦ Baxter Lane & Davis Lane intersection improvements. o Meadow Creek and West Winds Subdivisions. o Amsterdam to Churchill force main sewer. o Various sites for Bozeman School District. o Rouse Avenue widening and improvements. GapaNNty to meet Time and Budget Requirements DOWL HKM understands the importance of schedule and budget to our clients and their projects. Surveying and mapping services will be conducted by staff in our Bozeman and Helena offices. In the unlikely event the demand for surveying and mapping exceeds the capacity of the proposed team, resources from other western Montana offices can be used to meet schedule requirements. To provide the best services possible, all surveying will be completed by our experienced, highly trained surveyors. This will allow fieldwork to be completed expeditiously and efficiently to ensure the highest quality deliverable to the City of Bozeman. Processing of mapping will be completed by the office support team with review and guidance from Tim Reed, Project Amsterdam/Churchill Force Main 10% Manager. Primary control will be set at intervals of no greater than 1000' in areas with open sky visibility and controlled by a minimum of two three-minute RTK observations. Secondary control will likely be set by total station observations with multiple rounds of angles and distances collected for redundancy. Due to the heavy foliage over most of the project, the majority of topographic mapping will be conducted with robotic total station. All visible surface features will be mapped as well as underground features located and marked by "one-call" locates. Storm and sanitary sewer structures will be opened and documented with pipe sizes, directions, and measure downs to inverts included in the survey. Existing City of Bozeman benchmarks will be surveyed and depicted on mapping. All project mapping will be developed in AutoCAD Civil 3D version 2013. Drawings will consist of planimetric line work, break lines, points, symbols, and a surface model with resolution suitable for one-foot contours. Ranked Top 3 for MDT for the past 10 years - DOWL HKM has been ranked within the top 3 Land Surveying consultants for the Montana Department of Transportation over the last 10 years. Highly trained and qualified team - DOWL HKM places a high priority on specialized training and continuing education including sponsored annual in-house GNSS seminars for the past twelve years in addition to annual attendance at the MARLS conference. Cutting Edge Map Development - Our development of automated "field-to-finish" mapping techniques greatly increases our efficiency and ability to turn projects around quickly. Using special coding, our maps literally draw themselves. We are very adaptable to customization of deliverables to meet client's needs for CAD standards, layering, and point coding. With a template attribute database, we can customize point coding to integrate seamlessly with existing GIS databases. DOWL HKM I Page 5 t / 7 000.
