(C&H Engineering) appreciates the opportunity to submit the enclosed information for providing land surveying services to the City of Bozeman. C&H Engineering is a full service engineering firm providing consulting services to clients in the Bozeman area for the past 20 years. We have extensive project experience in land surveying, civil engineering, and structural engineering. As you will see, much of our experience is drawn from private projects. Our clients expect us to provide our professional services in a timely, cost effective, and professional manner. These demands have defined the firm that C&H Engineering is today and we now Iook forward to providing this same service to the City of Bozeman. We have been trying to establish a working relationship with the City of Bozeman for many years. We believe that our qualified staff and project experience qualify us to provide professional land surveying and engineering services. We have provided engineering design and project management for a large portion of the subdivisions in Bozeman and we feel that our experience and ability to meet the goals of our clients should be considered when selecting your next consultant. Week 2: Continue land surveying field work. Week 3: Finish land surveying and begin AutoCad drafting and data analysis. Week 4: Continue revising drafts and finalizing preliminary drawings. Week 5: Preparing and delivering the final approved product that complies with all of the client's requests. The survey for Koch Street can be completed in a two week time frame. Completion dates will be determined by the l notice to proceed dates. 1 1 f l CITY OF BOZEMAN 2014 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS-FIELD SURVEY OWNS E"a'w vend S—.y.q 11O SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS 1 3.0 Current Workloads At this time, C &H Engineering and Surveying Inc. completes 5-15 surveying jobs per week that vary from small city lots to hundreds of acres. We are able to schedule and complete many survey projects within 10 days of the original request, with drawings being completed within the inext 7 business days. i Per M. Hjalmarsson, P.E. i Mr. Hjalmarsson is a Professional Civil and Structural Engineer, and focuses primarily on structural engineering. Mr. Hjalmarsson provides project management services for all projects done by C&H Engineering. This includes ensuring that all projects meet time constraints, iestimated costs, and are quality products. Mark A. Chandler, P.E.,P.L.S. Mr. Chandler is a Professional Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor. He focuses primarily on project management and review of civil engineering and land surveying projects. Mr. Chandler has over 35 years of engineering and land surveying experience and will coordinate with the City of Bozeman and key individuals to ensure that the project goals are realized. Mr. Chandler handles 5-10 surveying projects per week ranging from small boundary and topographic surveys to large/complex surveys throughout Montana. Kevin Spriggs,P.L.S. Kevin Spriggs, Survey Manager, has over 30 years of experience in the field of Land Surveying and is experienced in using a wide range of surveying equipment including GPS and Robotic Total Station. Mr. Spriggs manages the survey department and coordinates their daily and weekly schedules to maximize crew efficiency. He oversees and schedules for 10-15 land i surveying projects per week. i Tom Marshall ` Tom Marshall, Survey Field Crew Chief, has 10 years of land surveying experience. His projects range from boundaries on small city lots to federal highway reconstruction in both Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks.He currently directs 7-10 land surveying projects per week. ! Ryan Hingston 1 Mr. Hingston is a Survey Technician who specializes in operating surveying instruments and heading field crews He provides project management and is CTS Certified. Mr. Hingston has been surveying in the Gallatin Valley for the last year. Mr. Hingston will lead the field crew for j the survey aspects of this project by maintaining a rigorous field schedule. His crew completes 7- 10 land surveying projects per week. 1 Tim Staub,E.I. Mr. Staub is a Civil Engineer who focuses primarily on drafting and site development including drainage and utility plans. His drafting services include topographic maps, Certificates of Survey, As-builts, and Plat drafting. (C&H Engineering) is pleased to be considered for the Land Surveying projects for the City of Bozeman 2014 Capital Improvements Projects Field l Survey. We believe that our experience and qualifications make our company the right surveying firm for this project. 1 C&H Engineering was established and incorporated in 1994, and has since proven to be a successful, full service engineering firm. We provide professional services including land i surveying, civil engineering, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, hydraulic analysis and design, land planning, construction administration, and environmental engineering for water supply and distribution systems, water treatment systems, wastewater treatment systems, wetlands delineation, transportation, commercial, industrial and environmental projects for both public and private clients in Bozeman, Gallatin County, and the surrounding areas. lC & H Engineering currently has a staff of 20 full-time employees in the Bozeman office. This project will be overseen by Mark A. Chandler, Professional Engineer, Professional Land Surveyor, and one of our firm's principals. Mark will coordinate with the City of Bozeman and I key individuals to ensure that the project goals are realized. Mark will also coordinate internally with the survey manager, survey field crews, and AutoCAD draftsman to meet the clients' needs. C&H Engineering field crews are equipped with the latest and most efficient surveying 1 equipment available. We are currently using Trimble GPS and conventional equipment, including the Trimble R-10 GPS Receiver and the Trimble S-6 Robotic Total Station. This combination is unmatched in the industry and provides for extremely accurate and efficient field data collection. To the best of our knowledge, C&H Engineering is the first consulting firm to use this equipment in Montana. C&H Engineering is a fully insured corporation carrying both liability and errors and omissions insurance for all projects. We are registered in several states in both engineering and land surveying and have completed projects throughout Montana and adjoining states. Our most extensive experience and history is with the community of Bozeman, and the Gallatin County area. Our experienced and knowledgeable staff will complete your project professionally and efficiently from initial field work to final drawings. CITY OF BOZ.EMAN 2014 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS-FIELD SURVEY FCQ-- 0 1 En9.mm—'g end S—W,o Inc- SUmMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS 4.1 Specific Project Experience • Certificate of Survey - Montana Department of Transportation; Bozeman, MT C&H Engineering worked with the City of Bozeman to provide the C.O.S. and all the necessary legal documentation for the tract on which the MT-DOT facilities will be located. • Topographic Mapping- Montana Department of Transportation, Bozeman, MT C&H Engineering worked with MT-DOT and City of Bozeman to conduct surveying and prepare a topographic map of the location of the future MT-DOT facilities site. The survey will be used for design of the buildings and proposed utility extensions to service the site. C&H Engineering has worked with MT-DOT on several other sites in Montana as well. • Site & Boundary Surveys, Topographic Mapping- Triangle Communications C&H Engineering works with Triangle Communications to create site and boundary surveys and topographic maps for their cell tower sites in different locations in northern Montana. The surveying aspects include both topographic and boundary work. • Construction Staking - Big Sky Medical Center, Big Sky, MT C&H Engineering is working with Langlas & Associates, Inc. on the construction staking for the building, utilities, drainage structures, parking, and driveways for the future Big Sky Medical Center which will be in the Town Center of Big Sky, MT. • Civil Engineering & Land Surveying Services - Crowley Fleck Building C&H Engineering is working with Locati Architects, PLLC and Dick Anderson Construction to provide civil engineering including topographic site mapping, utility main extension, site grading and drainage plan, construction staking and inspection at 191h & Kagy for the construction of the Crowley Fleck office building in Bozeman, MT. • Civil Engineering- Animal Bioscience Building,Montana State University C&H Engineering worked with Montana State University during the design and construction of the Animal Bio-Science facility at MSU-Bozeman. Our team oversaw the preparation of the Site Grading and Drainage Plan, Site Utility Plan, and Stream Relocation Plan for this project. We also provided construction staking and inspection during construction.
