HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-22-14 Galavan / Streamline Directors Report / Director’s Report July 22, 2014 STREAMLINE: 601 is still at Kamp but should be back in service by our board meeting. 602 won’t start. 604 needs an EGR flush to help with engine power. 608 is at Harlow’s in Whitehall and 611 is still waiting for a new turbo, which will be covered by warranty. The major complaint I have been hearing is the lack of air conditioning on the buses, which is an ongoing battle. The schedule and map updates are at the printers and should be ready to distribute the first part of August. Signs and posters should be ready for distribution as well. Let me know if you know of anyone looking to make a few bucks and I will put them to work updating the stop signs and delivering posters. The Sweet Pea Parade will be held on August 2, 2014. I anticipate the inclusion of Streamline in the parade. The theme is Create a Dream. The Belgrade Fall Festival will be September 20 and will include both Galavan and Streamline in its parade. GALAVAN: Galavan added 16 new customers in June and gave a total of 1,888 rides in 21 days of service. We have not noticed the usual summer let down that occurs during the warmer months. Our Galavan ride counts have stayed higher than usual and should show a sizable increase for the year. I just got word from M & W Repair that Bus 8 has a significant transmission problem which will cost about $4,000 in repairs. Since our new bus won’t be here until after the first of the year we will probably go ahead with the repairs, but the bus is a 2002 with about 200,000 miles on it. Richard Geraci, everyone’s favorite semi-retired driver, is resting at home following his recent stay at the Salt Lake City Burn Center. He is doing well but has a long road ahead as his skin grafts heal. He sustained severe burns to his chest and under one arm and feels very lucky none of the flames got to his eyes or mouth and lungs.
