We employ several methods of evaluation and abatement when workplace hazards are determined. Our superintendents are involved in several continuing education programs that enhance their ability to observe and resolve worker safety issues before accidents occur. We work together with OSHA, MT State Fund Loss Prevention, and the MT Bureau of Safety and Health conducting site evaluations on a regular basis. OSHA representatives have visited and inspected our projects throughout Montana on numerous occasions during the past five years. The decision to pursue LEED needs to be made by the entire leadership team working together on identifying the scorecard credits, evaluating the budgets, and evaluating everyone's commitment to the process. Bidding and selecting subcontractors is slightly different for a LEED project. The project team will need to pay special attention to LEED items that have a long lead time and plan accordingly. These items can be incorporated into early bid packages to avoid scheduling conflicts. Overall, the project team needs to be proactive with LEED planning during preconstruction to avoid problems during construction. r 4 ------------ dim -'--" ems■' mom'-V+.r' 1 x.
