Please explain your relevant qualifications, interests and experiences. : I am writing to express
my interest in filling the existing vacancy for a citizen member of the Audit committee. My
interest in local government was sparked by a recent zoning proposal, and I was most impressed at the level of involvement and commitment from my fellow community members. After speaking with a member of the City Council, I felt as though I should be making my own
contribution to local government and believe this is the committee that best suits my background
and interests. My qualifications include a Master’s degree from M.I.T.’s Sloan School with a
concentration in Finance, a BA in Economics, and a career spent largely in finance. I am currently the COO of an investment firm based in New York, where amongst other tasks I am responsible for the preparation and audit of our own financials as well as the financial statements
of the entities we manage. I have wide experience in both operating and investment roles, with a
particular emphasis on corporate due- diligence and analysis. Oversight of and accounting for
municipal spending is certainly a worthy goal, and I’m glad the City of Bozeman offers its citizens the chance to be involved with the process. I would welcome the opportunity to assist the committee in whatever capacity is required. Please let me know if you have any questions
regarding my background. Yours sincerely, Joseph Huber
