Architecture118 is pleased to share our proposal for the new City Park entrance signs. The
design is intended to provide a contemporary look in the growing Bozeman community, while
the simple, readily-available materials reflect upon our history.
The design of the sign is composed of two main elements: a main panel indicating the park
name and an "information totem". The main sign panel is designed for ease of visibility from °f ,
multiple angles and is scaled for legibility. The "information totem" acts as an interactive
piece and is scaled for human relation to engage passersby. The combination of these two
elements, along with additional design options, create a piece that serves its informational
purposes well, yet provides additional levels of functionality and interaction.
The sign is intended to be a product of our local economy; easily fabricated by local artisans
using local, readily-available materials and services. The materials are very durable and low-
maintenance. In the event that a sign is damaged, the modularity of the design lends itself to
easy repairs. The signs require little time to install by using common anchor bolts and
fasteners.
Following, please see our concept and qualifications. We look forward to working with the City
of Bozeman.
Sincerely,
S'A

We propose working with Park staff to refine the concept and determine the final budget. Our initial design efforts have
been focused on trying to keep the cost to $2000-2500 per installation. We will continue to strive for this amount, but feel the
uniqueness of the design and creating a piece that can be locally fabricated is more important than accepting an "off-the-
shelf" design.
Architecturel 18 will provide pro-bonO design and coordination to develop a cost-effective piece. We will also assist the City in
soliciting bids from multiple fabricators to encourage competitive pricing and develop a network of providers. Partnership with
other City Departments may allow some costs to be reduced (e.g. concrete pads may be able to be provided by Public Works) and
contribute to the community pride aspect of our proposal. On-site installation could be completed by Park staff,
Architecturell8 personnel, volunteers, or social clubs (e.g. Eagles, Optimist Club, Boy Scouts, etc) with minimal supervision.
After these initial efforts are completed, Architecturell8 will remain committed to future, annual installations and will continue
to work with interested parties until the signs are provided at all desired locations. We propose a 5% mark-up ($150 maximum)
per sign for these coordination efforts (concrete pad installation excluded).
NON-DISCRIMINATION AFFIRMATION FORM
Architecturel18 hereby affirms it will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, marital status, national
origin, or because of actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity or disability in the performance of work performed for
the city of Bozeman, if a contract is awarded to it, and also recognizes the eventual contract, if awarded, will contain a provision
prohibiting discrimination as described above and that this prohibition shall apply to the hiring and treatment of Architecture 118
employees and to all subcontracts it enters into in performance of the agreement with the city of Bozeman.

Standardized building signage for Montana State University.
The sleek, yet modular design allows for way-finding graphics
(such as floor plans illustrating department locations) to be
inserted based on the various uses the building(s) may have.
