I have attached a proposal for the anticipated annual demand of 5 signs and 5 sets of posts. Along with the proposal I have included two different drawings of the proposed sign and posts. I will describe and provide further details for my design, materials and overall proposal in the rest of this document. MATERIAL Our sign and posts are made from recycled plastic lumber which can be referred to by several market based names like "Resin Wood", "Poly Wood" or"Composite Plastic Lumber". Plastic Lumber is an all plastic material system that is extruded into sheet and a variety of different dimensional profiles. Despite being made from the same material source,the sign carries a less amount of recycled content (upwards of 60%) then the plastic lumber posts (upwards of 98%). Both are a truly"green" product and offer great benefits on top of this one. Although the material looks to be made from three layers laminated together, it is actually molecularly bonded at its molten state so that the layers can not and will not delaminate or pull apart from each other. The material,which Mitch Overton should be able to attest to, is virtually maintenance free. The material does not have a porous surface so things like dirt, graffiti, mold and mildew are easily cleaned off with just soap, water and a sponge. The material will never absorb water so rotting, splinting and splintering is non existent. It is also produced with UV stabilizers to help prevent fading over the long term. You will never need to paint or stain our product which can save a lot of maintenance dollars over the long term and gives your crew more time to work on what is really important around the parks. SIGN DESIGN Being an outsider, I probably don't have the best understanding of what it is to live and visit parks in Bozeman. However,the one thing that I noticed in many of the pictures I researched and what is prominently displayed in your city logo is your beautiful backdrop of a mountain range. That was the basis for what I thought was unique and what I thought would look great in the final product. I think that the profile cut on the top portion of the sign helps highlight the beautiful mountainous setting you are so fortunate to have in your back or front yard. While it is not overly unique I think it speaks to where Bozeman is located and what an outsider, like myself, would value in the surrounding areas. The color combination I selected gave a great contrast between the brown background and mountain range and the white letters and snow caps. I have been told that our material provides better visibility in the day and into the twilight hours when compared to a painted wood counterpart. Should the general design be a favorite of yours,we still have the ability to tweak the content and presentation and still maintain your current proposed price. For instance, should you want to replace the website with the park's address,this would not affect the price. Colors can change without an affect on the cost too. To that end, I have also provided a page of sign designs that present the sign with 4 different options.
