HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-19-07_Authorize Merit Pay Increase for City Manager65432_7 Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: Chris Kukulski, City Manager SUBJECT: Merit pay increase for the City Manager MEETING DATE: November 19, 2007 BACKGROUND: After concluding my most recent performance appraisal process the Commission had indicated a desire to increase my salary in accordance with Section 3 paragraph C. Paragraph C states that “the Commission may determine that a merit based increase is appropriate for Employee, based on Employee’s accomplishments of Commission set performance goals and objectives.” It is my understanding that the Commission would like to consider increasing my base pay by 5% in fiscal year 2008 and 5% in fiscal year 2009 in accordance with Section 3 paragraph C. It is an honor to serve the Commission and citizens of Bozeman. I thank you for this consideration in recognition of accomplishing many of the goals and objectives you have set forth for me in my first three years of serving the community.. RECOMMENDATION: That the City Commission approve a motion increasing the City Manager’s base pay by 5% in fiscal year 2008 and 5% in fiscal year 2009 as set forth in Section 3 paragraph C of the city manager’s Employment Contract. FISCAL EFFECTS: The merit increase for the city manager’s base pay will adjust the city manager’s salary by approximately $4,926 for fiscal year 2008 and approximately $5,173 in fiscal year 2009.
