FEDERAL AID PROJECT NO. F-203 (3)
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN TO SET FORTH CERTAIN AGREE-
MENTS BETWEEN THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, THE MONTANA
STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION AND THE
PUBLIC ROADS ADMINISTRATION OF THE FEDERAL WORKS AGENCY OF THE UNITED STATES OF
AMERICA RELATIVE TO RIGHT OF WAY ENCROACHMENTS AND TRAFFIC REGULATIONS ON U.S.
HIGHWAY 191 WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN.

WHEREAS: The State Highway Commission of Montana
i8 desirous of constructing the
Gallatin Gateway - Bozeman Road in Gallatin
County within the City of Bozeman, Montana,
beginning at a point at or near the
intersection of the centerline of South 11th Avenue,
and the West City Limits and extending 0.189 miles easterly along College Street to the
West curb line of South 8th Avenue and further designated as Federal Aid Project No.
F-203 (3).
WHEREAS: The State Highway Commission is desirous
of receiving Federal funds for
improvement of said highway; and
WHEREAS: The PUQlic Roads Administration of
the Federal Works Agency of the United
States of America will not participate in the construction of said street until and unless
the City of Bozeman will agree to certain conditions hereafter set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN:
That, for and in consideration of the State Highway Commission of Montana and the
Public Roads Administration of the Federal Works Agency of the United States of America,
constructing said highway and routing traffic on the same within the City of Bozeman,

over the above-mentioned street, it hereby agrees with the State Highway Commission and
the Public Roads Administration to the
following stipulations:
1.
That it will not in the future, permit encroachments on the right of way of
said above mentioned street.
2. That it will not pass any ordinances or laws
fixing a speed limit on the above-
mentioned street of under 25 miles per hour.
3. That it will not allow the erection of signs,
semaphores or signals that will
give preference to local routes which intersect
with said above mentioned street
with the exception of necessary traffic lights.
4. That it will require stopping of traffic at
all intersecting streets and alleys
before entering the above mentioned street,
with the exception of those inter-
secting streets where traffic is regulated by
traffic lights and when traffic
lights are in operation.
5. That it will modify its City Ordinance to require
parallel parking on the above
mentioned street.
S. That it will require that all opening of the
pavement be done under direct super-

vision of the State Highway Department to their
complete satisfaction and that no
opening of the pavement is to be done without prior authorization from the State
Highway Department and upon posting an approved bond in the amount of one thousand
dollars ($1,000.00).
Passed and adopted by the Commission of the City of Bozeman and approved by the Mayor
this 6th day of July, 1949.

that the foregoing Resolution No. 652 was published by title and number in the Bozeman
Daily Chronicle, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in said City,
in the issue of July 12th, 1949 and tha t due proof is on file in my office.
