STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE:

This unusual brick veneer Queen Anne style house was probably-built
was associated with both the Northern Pacific Railroad, and the GallatinpValley.Electricwho
Railway, The house retains high integrity and is an architecturally significant
representation of a middle class rendition of the style.
Although Busch is not listed in the 1892 city directory, he appears in the 1900 and 1904-5
directories as foreman of the Northern Pacific Railroad. Between about 1910 and 1916, he
was foreman, and eventually superintendent of the Gallatin Valley Electric Railway. -
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: -This detached, one-and-one-half story, single family residence has a irre lar - - -
shed-roofed ;Front Porch next to a large half-hexagonal bayo � Plan with a
the main
structure. The three-bay facade is asymmetrical and consists offront entrance
with two-over-two double-hung windows, a small fixed stain glass window, and a cottage
window in the center of the bay, which features a stained glass transom. The frame
construction is finished in brick veneer and rests on a cut stone foundation. The gable-
hipped combination roof is covered with asphalt shingles and features dormers and an
,interior rear brick chimney. The axis of the main roof is perpendicular to the street.
