HomeMy WebLinkAbout2_Approve and authorize City Manager to sign the Not_2 Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: Bob Murray, Project Engineer Chris Kukulski, City Manager SUBJECT: WWTP Early Out Project MEETING DATE: 7/23/07 RECOMMENDATION: Approve and authorize City Manager to sign the Notice of Award. BACKGROUND: Attached is a copy, of the Notice of Award for the above referenced project. The WWTP Early Out project is the title that has been given to the conversion of the existing aeration basins to a “semi” BNR configuration which is necessary to keep the plant in compliance with the DEQ permit from now until the larger plant upgrade comes on line. This represents the first portion of the smaller interim project. It is on a very tight time line, so it was decided to procure the mixers separately since they have a long lead time, and that way we would not have to wait until a contractor is under contract and has approved submittals, ect. This is the bid for the mixers. Bids were opened on July 11th, with one bid being received from Wilo EMU in the amount of $44,395.00. Although there was only one bid received, it was under the Engineer’s Estimate of $55,000.00. Attached is a recommendation of award from the Engineer stating that having reviewed the bid documents they feel it is a responsible, responsive bid in accordance with what was specified. 5 FISCAL EFFECTS: To be paid from the Wastewater Fund ALTERNATIVES: Disapprove Respectfully submitted, _________________________________ ____________________________ Robert J.
