A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR
THE HOLDING OF AN ELECTION
FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING
TO THE QUALIFIED RESIDENT
FRREHOWERS OF THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN, MONTANA, THE QUESTION
OF GRANTING TO THE MONTANA
POWER COMPANY, A COR.PORATION,
A FRANCHISE FOR THE TERM
OF FIFTY (50) YEARS AND THERE-
AFTER UNTIL AND UNLESS OTHERWISE
PROVIDED BY ORDINANCE,
UNDER WHICH SAID COMPANY
MAY CONSTRUCT, EQUIP, LAY, MAIN- I
TAIN AND OPERATE PIPE LINES
AND APPURTENANCES IN, UNDER,
'UPON, OVER AND ACROSS STREETS,
A VENUES, ALLEYS, HIGHWA YS,
BRIDGES, EASEMENTS AND OTHER
PUBLIC PLACES IN THE CITY
OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, AND
MAY TRANSPORT, DISTRIBUTE AND
SELL GAS, AND AMENDING AND
REPLACING CITY OF BOZEMAN
RESOLUTION NO. 981
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA:
SECTION 1: That on the 2uth
day of July A. D. 1960, the City Commission of
the City of Bozeman passed and adopted Resolution No. 981 of said City fixing the
6th day of December A. D. 1960, as the date upon which a special election of said
City would be held for the purpose of submitting to the qualified resident free-
holders of said City the question of granting to The Montana Power Company a fran-
chise for the operation of a natural gas system in said City.
SECTION 2: That it now appears it would be for the best interests of said
City and said The Montana Power Company that said election be held on the 20th
day of December A. D. 1960, between the hours or 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. of said
date, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified resident freeholders of said
City, whose names appear on the preceding tax roll of said City of the County of
Gallatin, the following question:
Shall the City of Bozeman, Montana, grant to The Montana Power Company,
a corporation, its Buccessors and assigns,
the right, priviiege and fran-
chise for the full period of fifty (50) y
ears, and thereafter until and
unless otherwise provided by ordinance, to construct,
equip, lay, main-
tain, and operate in, under, upon, over and across the streets, avenues,

alleys, highways, brid~es, easements and other public places in the City
of Bozeman, County of ailatin, State of Montana, as now or hereafter
constituted, mains, pipes,
conduits, manholes, reducing and regulating
stations and all other appurtenances and accessories for the purpose
of transporting, conveying, distributing, supplying and selling natural
gas or artificial gas, or a m1x~lre
of natural and artificial gas for
light, heat, power and other purposes at rates fixed and allowed by the
~lblic Service Commission of Montana.
SECTION 3: That the Clerk of
the City Commission of said City of Bozeman,
Gallatin County, Montana, be authorized to publish and post the necessary notices
in accordance with the laws of the State of Montana, and have printed necessary
ballots to be used at such elections.
, SECTION 4: That the Clerk of
the City Commission be authorized to arrange
for judging at the voting places and do all other things necessary for the hold-
ing of such election, in accordance with the laws of Montana.
SECTION 5: That this resolution
amends and supersedes Resolution No. 981
passed and adopted by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman on the 2uth day
of July A. D. 1960.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the ,Commission of the City of Bozeman this 28th day
of September A. D. 1960.

Bozeman, do hereby certify the foregoing Commission Reso-
lution No. 993 was published by title and number in the Boze-
man Daily Chronicle, a newspaper of general circulation printed
and published in said City in the issue of the lOth day of
Oc tober, 1960, and due proof
of such publication is on file
in my office.
