This project is for the design services for construction of the first phase of the new plant which will utilize a Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) process, as described in the newly adopted Wastewater Facility Plan. This will allow us to stay in compliance new discharge permit limits, and provide for added capacity to accommodate future growth. The scope of services also includes assistance in effluent management, TMDL in the East Gallatin, Environmental Compliance, and Funding Assistance. The document is in the City’s standard format with all deletions that are not necessary with this contract indicated in strikeout. The proposed fee of $3,732,170.60 appears to be commensurate with the project complexity and anticipated total project cost. Of the total, Tasks 700, 800, and 900 will be paid on a time and materials basis, and Task 1000 is a line item for extra services so that amendments won’t need to be processed every time there is an adjustment in the scope. In the end, these items, 700-1000, may or may not be entirely used. RECOMMENDATION: Authorize City Manager to sign. FISCAL EFFECTS: This project is currently budgeted two thirds under the Wastewater Fund and one third under the Wastewater Impact Fee fund for this fiscal year. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission. Respectfully submitted, _________________________________ ____________________________ Robert J. Murray Jr., Project Engineer Chris A.
