Commission Memorandum
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission
FROM: Brian Krueger, Associate Planner
SUBJECT: South Towne Square Site Plan #Z-07051
MEETING DATE: Monday, April 23, 2007 at 6:00 PM.
RECOMMENDATION: That the City Commission consider taking over review and approval
authority for the South Towne Square Site Plan application (Z-07051), per Section 18.64 B.1. BMC.
BACKGROUND: Representative Allied Engineering submitted a Site Plan application, to allow
the construction of four 5,000 square foot buildings and one 4,000 square foot building for retail
and office uses with related site improvements at 2000 South 3rd Avenue, zoned "B-1"
(Neighborhood Business District). Vehicular access to the site would be provided by two accesses,
one along South 3rd Avenue and one along Kagy Boulevard. Preliminary copies of the South Towne
Center plans have been previously provided to the Commission.
The City Commission may by an affirmative, simple majority, vote of its members at a regularly
scheduled meeting reclaim to itself the final approval of a development normally subject to the
approval of the Planning Director.
The Development Review Committee (DRC) has reviewed the proposal and has prepared
recommendations for overall conditional approval of this application, which will be forwarded to
either the Planning Director or City Commission for final action, depending on the outcome of this
proceeding.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES: The Department of Planning is not aware of any unresolved issues for
the proposed development at this time.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The Department of Planning is not aware of any fiscal effects for the
proposed development at this time.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
CONTACT: Please email Brian Krueger at bkrueger@bozeman.net if you have any questions prior
to the public hearing.
