The valve building is 90% complete and we are waiting for the phone line for the fire alarm monitoring system to be installed. I have received a Change Order request from the contactor for the purchase and installation of some additional modules for the fire alarm system. The electrical drawings did not include these modules and they were not a part of the bid package. These modules are for the main shut off valve and the low air pressure sensor switch. Total cost for Change Order 2 is $717.16 which includes the Overhead and Profit mark-up. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the approval of the Change Order. The valves are needed for close monitoring of the system. Had these items been included in the original contact they would have been part of the original bid price. 32 FISCAL EFFECTS: The agreement with our insurance carrier includes the installation cost of the system. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission. Respectfully submitted, _________________________________ ____________________________ James Goehrung Chris A.
