Commission Memorandum
REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission
FROM: Cynthia Jordan Delaney, Deputy City Clerk
Chris A. Kukulski, City Manager
SUBJECT: Pedestrian/Traffic Safety Committee
MEETING DATE: February 20, 2007
RECOMMENDATION: Reappoint up to one (1) member to the Pedestrian/Traffic Safety
Committee.
BACKGROUND:
Under an inter-local agreement dated February 6, 1990 and signed by the State of Montana
Department of Transportation, the Bozeman City-County Planning Board, the City of Bozeman, and
Gallatin County, the Pedestrian/Traffic Safety Committee is identified "as a sounding board for
proposals advanced to the Transportation Coordinating Committee."
The structure of the Committee is somewhat revised under this inter-local agreement, with its
members being appointed by the City Commission and the County Commission, "from a cross
section of the study area's economic and social classes in accordance with the appropriate section of
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964." The Committee is advisory, and members are appointed
to staggered two-year terms.
This one (1) board member seeks reappointment:
Gary Vodehnal
He was appointed by the City Commission on January 18, 2005, and his term expired on December
31, 2006.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
Respectfully submitted,
