Dear Mayor and Commissioners,
We urge your support for the Bozeman and YMCA partnership involving building the aquatics center adjacent to the Regional Park at Vaquero Parkway. Private non-profit and government partnerships are to be encouraged. The YMCA is a well-known entity with national and international prominence and a well-deserved reputation for fulfilling community needs. Cooperation makes financial sense as well as providing services to local youth, many of whom are underserved. The Vaquero Parkway location for our fast expanding city makes sense as does the close availability to other recreational opportunities. With the Gallatin County Commission as an additional collaborator, this project provides a model for future joint ventures of the two government operations, a relationship that at times appears adversarial.
Please vote for the City-YMCA aquatic center partnership to commence adjacent to the County Regional Park at Vaquero Parkway. Thanks for your constructive work on this important issue.
