SUBJECT: Cattail Lake Park Master Plan #P-06022A
MEETING DATE: Monday, November 20th, 2006 at 6:00 PM
BACKGROUND: This is a request for approval of the Cattail Lake Park Master Plan on property
located generally east of Davis Lane and north of Catamount Street.
The Recreation and Parks Advisory Board reviewed this master plan on October 12, 2006 and
recommended approval subject to clarification of some issues. The Park Master Plan has been updated
to remove the picnic shelter and playground equipment. Therefore, no condition is necessary.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES: The Department of Planning is not aware of any unresolved issues for the
proposed development at this time.
RECOMMENDATION: That the City Commission approve the Park Master Plan of Cattail Lake.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The Department of Planning is not aware of any fiscal effects for the proposed
development at this time.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.

BACKGROUND:
• Cattail Lake Subdivision Park Master Plan has been reviewed by the Subdivision
Review Committee of RPAB and found to meet all the requirements for parks and
trails. The committee supports their proposal to provide a bike/ped sidewalk circling
the lake in lieu of a sidewalk and trail.
BOARD ACTION:
• Although there is still some concern over the location of, specifications of, and
responsibility for the picnic shelter and playground equipment, the RPAB approved the
park plan for Cattail Lake at the October 12 regular meeting
FISCAL EFFECTS:

ALTERNATIVES:
• none offered
