HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 862 Taxes for SID's, 1957 .. .-- JUt COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 862 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CrrfY OF BOZEMAN, LEVYING AND ASSESSING A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF TAXES UPON ALL THE PRUPERTY IN SPECIAL Dv'fPROVEMENT DISTRICTS OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, COUNTY OF GALLATIN, STATE OF MONTANA, FOR THE MAIN'l'ENANCE OF PARKINGS TO DEFRAY THE COST OF MAIN- I TAINING 'rEE PARKINGS WITHIN SAID SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS OF 'rHE CITY OF BOZEMAN FOR THE YEAR 1957. WHEREAS, the City Council and the Commission of the City of Bozeman have heretofore duly and regularly passed Council and Commission Resolutions creating Special Improvement Districts within the City of Bozeman, defining the boundaries thereof and providing for the maintenance of parkings therein, and for the assess- ment of the cost of maintaining ttle parkings as set forth in Resolutions herein- after referred tOj and WHEREAS, the parkings within the boundaries of said Special Improvement Districts have been cared for and maintained during the year 1957, as contemplated in said Resolutions, in accordance with terms and conditions thereofj and WHEREAS, said Special Improvement Districts for the maintenance of parklngs and the Resolutions creating the same, the total frontage or the area, of the property within said districts to be assessed, the total cost of said maintenance within said districts and the amount chargeable to the property therein, is here- inafter set forth, NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the provisions of Section 11-2224, Political Code, R.C.M., 1947, and said Council and Commission Resolutions, creating said Special Improvement Districts, and providing for the maintenance thereofj ~ BE IT RESOLVED AND IT IS HEREBY ORDERED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, STATE OF MONTANA: Section 1. That for the year 1957, the City of Bozeman has defrayed the cost ($7,246.76) of maintenance of parkings in the several Special Improvement Districts, pursuant of Resolutions creating the same, snd that the entire cost thereof, the total number of lineal feet, or area, of the property to be assessed, and the rate per linear foot or square foot, is as follows, to-wi t; I Dis t. That to defray the cost of maintenance of parkings within said Special Improvement Districts for the year 1~57, there be and there is hereby levied ". and assessed a tax upon all the property in front of and bordering on said Special Improvement Districts as set forth in Schedules One to Seventeen inclusive, hereto attached and made a part hereofj that a particular description of each lot and par- cel of land with the name of the owner and the sum assessed against him or it, is set forth in the assessment lists hereto attached, marked "Schedule One (1) to Seventeen (17) and made a part hereofj that the several sums set opposite the names of the owners and the described lots and parcels of land be, and the same are hereby levied and assessed upon and against the said lots and parcels of 1andj tha t the several sums be collected from the respective owners of said lots and parcels of land described in the said assessment lists, Schedules One to Seventeen inclusive, as required by lawj that said sums shall be paid and the collection thereof shall be made in the manner and in accordance with the law governing the collection of Special --.---- -... -- - - --. - :192 Improvement taxes; that failure to pay such assessments when same shall become due and payable shall make such person and such lots and parcels of land liable to the penalties provided by law relative to delinquent taxes. Section 3. That the regular session of the Commission of the City of Bozeman to be held on the 2nd day of October, 1~57, at the Commission Chamber, City Hall Building, be, and the same is hereby designated as the time and place at Which objections to the final adoption of this Resolution will be heard by the I Commission. Section 4. That the Clerk of the Commission be, and he is hereby ordered and directed to publish in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, a daily newspaper, printed and published in the City of Bozeman, a notice signed by the Clerk of the Commission, and stating that a resolution levying a special assessment of taxes to defray the cost or maintenance of parkings in the said Special Improvement Districts for the year 1957, is on file in the office of the Clerk of the Com- mission, subject to inspection for a period of five days; that said notice shall state the time and place at which objections will be heard by the Commission to the final adoption of this Resolution; that it shall be published at least five days before the date set by the Commission for hearing objections, and the final adoption of this Resolution. NOTICR IS HEREBY GIVEN, that at an adjourned regular session of the Commission of the City of Bozeman held on the 27th day of September, 1957, Commission Resolu- tion No. 862 was duly passed and aqopted; that said Commission Resolution No. 862 levies and assesses a special assessment of taxes upon all the property in Special Improvement Districts of said City to defray the cost of maintenance of parkings within said Special Improvement Districts for the year 1957. All persons interested are referred to the several Council and Commission Resolutions creating the aforesaid Special Improvement Districts, defining the boundaries thereof, and providing for the assessment of the cost of said Resolu- tions being on file in the office of the Clerk of the Commission of the City of Bozeman, at the City Hall of said City, and subject to inspection of all interested parties.
